Recitals, Festivals, Masterclasses & Certifications

  • Ages 5+ (including adults).
  • Lessons are 30 minutes long, 1x/week:
    • Rates ($) vary by teacher. Please contact us to find out our current rates.
  • Longer lesson times for advanced students are available per request. The monthly rate for longer lessons depends on the teacher, as well as the student’s experience level.
  • $45.00 registration fee: charged 1x/year to cover the cost of lesson supplies (stickers, treats, printer ink, etc.)
  • Ages 6+ (including adults).

The following events are offered to all of our private students:

Recitals: our studio hosts 3 recitals per year:

  • Fall Recital (end of October)
  • Winter Recital (mid-December)
  • End of School Year Recital (June)

Oilsands Rotary Music Festival: our studio participates in this festival every year and our teachers help students prepare for this fun event.

Masterclasses: every year – around January/February – our studio participates in masterclasses hosted by the Fort McMurray Music Teachers Association. Masterclasses are a wonderful way for students to gain performance experience, as well as glean insight and knowledge from an adjudicator, who has experience with festivals and exams.

Certifications: our teachers help students – who desire to get formal certification – prepare for The Royal Conservatory of Music’s (RCM) and Conservatory Canada’s exams.

Group vs. Private Lessons: Which Should I Choose?

Benefits of Group Lessons Are :

  • We Recommend group lessons for young children aged 3-7 who are brand new to the piano, guitar, or ukelele. 
  • Group classes are a good way for parents to see if their child is ready for the commitment of private lessons.
  • They are fun and interactive! Group classes offer lots of hands on learning activities.
  • New friends! Classes are broken up into age groups, so children are learning with similar aged peers.

At the end of every semester parents have 3 options:

  1. Re-enroll in another semester of group classes. The same class day/time will be offered for all 3 semesters of the year; the curriculum is set up so it gets more advanced each semester (i.e. curriculum does not repeat).
  2. Switch to private lessons.
  3. End classes/lessons altogether if learning an instrument is not the right fit for your child. We will always be here if you decide to try again later down the road!

Group Classes

Enrollment for group classes will open in August 2023

  • Ages 3-6
  • Students must have access to a (minimum) 61 key piano or keyboard at home so they can practice between classes.
  • We run 3 semesters of group classes per year (Fall, Winter & Spring):
    • Fall 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Winter 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Spring 2024 Semester: 12 weeks
  • Registration fee: $80.00
    • Only charged in the student’s 1st semester: covers the cost of a book bag plus all of the books and learning materials needed for an entire year (3 semesters) of group classes.
  • Details:
    • Cost: $380.00 per semester
    • Each class is 1 hour long.
      • Parents do not need to stay for the class, but are welcome to if they would like.

Class Times:

Age 5-6 | Monday 4:30-5:30 

Age 3-4 | Monday 5:30-6:30 

Age 3-4 | Wednesday 2:00-3:00 

Ages 3-4 | Thursday 4:30-5:30 

Pre-school Music & Movement 

Wednesday 10:00am – 10:45am

No music experience required!

Age Groups:

  • 2-3 years 

Cost: $350.00

  • Registration fee: $60
  • Fall 2023 Semester Fee: $290.00

You must have a keyboard or piano at home so you are able to do the practice homework.

  • Ages 6-10
  • Students must have their own *size appropriate guitar* so they can practice at home between each class.
    • *Guitar Size: Younger or smaller children need to have a 1/2 or 3/4 sized guitar. How to measure your child for a guitar:
      • Have your child rest their elbow on a full-sized guitar. If the guitar is level with their shoulder, or, they need to raise their shoulder to be able to rest their elbow on the guitar, it means the guitar is too big for them and they will need a ½ or ¾ sized guitar.
  • We run 3 semesters of group classes per year (Fall, Winter & Spring):
    • Fall 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Winter 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Spring 2024 Semester: 12 weeks
  • Registration fee: $60.00
    • Covers the cost of a book bag plus all of the books and learning materials needed for the semester.
  • Details:
    • $300 per semester
    • Each class is 45 minutes long.
      • Parents do not need to stay for the class, but are welcome to if they would like.

Class Time

Wednesday 5:00pm-5:45pm

  • Ages 8-12
  • Students must have their own *size appropriate violin* so they can practice at home between each class.
  • We run 3 semesters of group classes per year (Fall, Winter & Spring):
    • Fall 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Winter 2023 Semester: 12 weeks
    • Spring 2024 Semester: 12 weeks
  • Registration fee: $60.00
    • Covers the cost of a book bag plus all of the books and learning materials needed for the semester.
  • Details:
    • $380 per semester
    • Each class is 45 minutes long.
      • Parents do not need to stay for the class, but are welcome to if they would like.
